It may be a little late this week, but I'm back with another edition of the Sound Mouth Weekly Rock Chart Round-Up (or SMWRCR, as all the cool kids are calling it)! For rock fans this week its mainly albums worth talking about, so
let's get stuck in...
On top of that, look forward to my recap and reactions to the Kerrang! Awards, which are taking place tonight! If you haven't yet checked out my preview/predictions for the ceremony, you can do so here. Go on, give it a look!
Until then, thanks for reading

Rammstein's three week run atop the
rock albums top 40 has come to an end, with their latest offering slipping to
number 2 in the wake of Pink Floyd's The Division Bell nabbing
the top spot thanks to a 25th anniversary vinyl re-issue. Over on the main UK
Top 100 albums chart, Pink Floyd are in at 23 while Rammstein are still holding
their own, sitting at 66 in their fourth week on the chart.
Gothic
metal outfit Motionless in White have also returned to the rock chart,
with their new album Disguise coming in at 5 whilst entering the main
albums chart at a fairly underwhelming 98.
A
chart story that may go under the radar this week considers Arctic Monkeys'
modern classic AM, which has now spent an incredible 300 weeks in the
top 100. This firmly puts the 2013 record in the conversation for being one
of, if not the, defining record of the 2010s and is extra impressive when you
realise that even their seminal 2006 debut is a long way off such a milestone.
Over
on the rock singles chart, Slipknot's 'Unsainted' is holding firm
in the top 20, likely aided by the anticipation for their headline set at this
weekend's Download Festival. However, the festival factor hasn't
impacted the listings in quite the way I speculated last week, with the track
having actually dropped two places down to 17. Still, the band's signature
anthem 'Duality' has re-emerged in the bottom half of the chart, so I wasn't
totally wrong!
Looking ahead to next week, we can expect the latest Baroness album to
shake things up given that their last record peaked at number 3 on rock albums
and even managed to creep into the main albums chart. At the time of writing, the tracks are racking up quite a lot of streams on Spotify, while their upcoming UK tour in support of Volbeat should boost interest, so we'll see how it pans out.
